Memo No 1837
Professor Emeritus Dr. A. K. M. Kafiluddin has compiled this book comprising of part one and part two. In part one he has described the critical character sticks of environment and health and links with demographic trends and reproductive health.. In the first part he has included researches which he has performed himself with the findings and recommendations sponsored by WHO on the subject of noise pollution, air pollution, water supply and sanitation ( including water decade 2005-2015 ), effects of climate change on health and vector borne diseases, road traffic injuries, poisoning (arsenic, lead ), filaria, malaria, dengue. He has also reproduced recent advances in AIDS, diabetes mellitus, disaster especially tsunami.
In part two the chapters deal with communicable and non-communicable diseases, public health administration, viral, and liver diseases. The author has rightfully described the threat of human life by hydrological disaster.
The manuscript, I think is worth publishing and will be timely. Hence support to publish the same should come forward from International and UN organizations.
I wish the book will be an excellent publication and delighted to congratulate the author for a very commendable publication.
